APPLICATION PROCEDURE

FOR THOSE INTERESTED IN STUDYING AT SAINT FRANCIS SEMINARY
especially in preparation for Ordination to the Sacred Priesthood of The Old Roman Catholic Church
PROCEDURE
1. All applicants for the Seminary must first contact their local Diocesan Vocation Director. He will provide them with all of the necessary information and forms as required by their own Diocesan Commission on Ministry.
(For those who are not sure of the appropriate Diocese, please go to the Contact Us page on this web site, and send a request to the Rector asking for the contact information for the appropriate Diocesan Vocation Director.)
2. When the necessary Diocesan procedures have been completed, the applicant should contact the Rector of Saint Francis Seminary and request an Application form. This form must be completed and sent to the Seminary together with all of the accompanying documentation required.

3. All applicants shall be available for a personal interview at a designated time and place. At that time or at another time to be designated, the applicant will take a battery of assessment tests to evaluate their suitability for ministry and academic study. All travel expenss to the interview and/or testing site shall be the responsibility of the applicant. The applicant will also be required to sign a release for a Criminal Background Check.
4. Each applicant must possess a broad-based education in a suitable field of learning from an accredited, four-year, degree-granting Institution of Higher Learning. Any exceptions to this requirement will be made only upon consultation between the Seminary authorities and the applicant's Bishop.
5. The Course of Studies contained in the Seminary Handbook and Catalog is the required course for acceptance into the Master of Sacred Theology Program and for the Certificate of Priestly Formation (required before Ordination).
6. In addition to the above procedures, the applicant will also be expected to have medical and psychological examinations/evaluations and provide official documentation of these to the proper canonical church authorities for both the Seminary and their own Diocese.
